This Privacy Policy explains how Hollywood Stars (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application and this website (hollywood-stars.com) (collectively, the “Service”).
Information we collect
Account information
If you create an account or sign in using Apple or Google through Supabase authentication, we receive identifiers and basic account details (such as email address and a user ID). We do not receive your Apple ID password or Google password.
Location information
If you grant location permission, we collect approximate or precise location data from your device to show nearby stars and provide map-based features. You can disable location access at any time in your device settings. The Service can still be used with reduced functionality if location is not allowed.
Subscription and purchase information
If you purchase a subscription, we use RevenueCat to manage subscription status and entitlements. RevenueCat may process purchase receipts and subscription events. We do not store your full payment card details.
Usage analytics
We use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to understand how the Service is used (e.g., pages viewed, feature usage, device and browser information, approximate location derived from IP for web analytics). We use this to improve performance and user experience.
Crash and diagnostics (if enabled)
We may collect diagnostics information to identify and fix errors (e.g., app crashes, performance metrics). These reports may include device information and approximate usage context.
How we use information
- Provide and maintain the Service (including login, maps, and nearby features)
- Personalize the experience (e.g., favorites, saved preferences)
- Manage subscriptions and verify entitlements
- Monitor and improve performance, reliability, and security
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
How we share information
We share information only as needed to operate the Service, including with:
- Supabase (authentication and database services)
- RevenueCat (subscription status and entitlements)
- Analytics providers (e.g., Google Analytics) for aggregated usage insights
- Service providers that help us host and operate the website and app infrastructure
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (you will be notified where required).
Data retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described above, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
Your choices and rights
- Location: You can allow/deny location access through your device settings.
- Account: You may request account deletion (see the Delete Account page on this website).
- Analytics: Some analytics can be limited via browser settings, ad blockers, or cookie controls where applicable.
Children’s privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required by your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
